Spanish singer Pablo Alboran has canceled his performance at the upcoming Festival de la Luz in Boimorto after failing to recover from severe pneumonia as quickly as expected.
The musician was scheduled to take the stage on Sunday, August 30, but medical professionals instructed him to remain on bed rest and continue treatment at home.
The diagnosis previously forced the artist to pull out of a concert in Ciudad Real. Although Alboran initially hoped that immediate rest and antibiotics would allow him to resume his tour schedule without further disruption, his recovery has proven slower than anticipated.
Alboran, a native of Malaga, is one of Spain's most prominent pop performers, known for chart-topping romantic ballads and extensive summer touring across the country. Pneumonia is a serious lung infection that causes inflammation in the air sacs, often requiring prolonged rest and antibiotic therapy to prevent complications, particularly for vocal performers.

In a statement shared with fans on social media, Alboran explained that he is recovering step by step from pneumonia, but his doctors have insisted that he take additional days of rest. He stated that although his progress is moving in the right direction, the recovery process is taking longer than he would prefer.
The singer emphasized the importance of remaining patient and adhering to medical timelines so that he can return to full strength. He noted that resting now is necessary to regain the energy required for his upcoming projects and future concerts.
The Festival de la Luz is an annual charity music festival held in Boimorto, a rural municipality located in the province of A Coruna in northwestern Galicia. Organizers host the event to raise funds for social causes, bringing together prominent musicians and thousands of attendees every summer.
