Pamela Anderson led the star turnout at the Carolina Herrera New York Fashion Week show on Monday night, stepping out in a retro-inspired look that nodded to her Baywatch days.

The 59-year-old actress wore a high-neck crimson jumper, a nod to her bright red swimsuit years on the hit lifeguard drama, paired with a glitzy gold jacket and a flower-patterned skirt embellished with flowers.

She finished the eye-catching outfit with huge dark sunglasses and statement red earrings. In keeping with the natural look she has favoured in recent years, Anderson went make-up free for the event, adding only a touch of light pink lipstick.

The appearance came just a week after Anderson was the star of the show at the Venice Film Festival, continuing a run of glamorous outings for the actress.

From Baywatch to the fashion runway

Anderson rose to fame in the 1990s as lifeguard C.J. Parker on Baywatch, appearing in 77 episodes across series three to seven. She later reprised the role in the 2003 reunion film, Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding.

Speaking to Deadline earlier this summer, Anderson reflected on her time on the show. "It was a great job, and I loved going to work every day on the beach," she said. "I would have been there anyway," she added with a laugh.

"At the time, it taught me a lot, and it gave me worldwide exposure," Anderson said. "Everything I've done has led me to here, which is a blessing. But I have no plans of going back to Baywatch."

Asked whether she wanted to know where her character ended up following news of a Baywatch reboot, Anderson said candidly: "If my kids were involved, I probably would have listened to them."

What's next for Pamela Anderson

Instead, Anderson said her focus is on other projects, including her upcoming dark comedy film Rosebush Pruning.

She put on a typically confident display as she strutted her stuff to the show venue in New York

She told Deadline she wants to explore new territory in her career. "I think I've just got to keep on seeing what else is out there. I get that there's a lot of really great TV out there right now, but I've already done that," she said.

"Now is my time to really play with different characters. I don't want to just fill my time until the end of the year. I have options, and some things I'm thinking about, including some theater again," she added.

"I want to make really bold choices. I want to surprise people. I want to surprise myself. And so I'm trying to do things I haven't done in the past," Anderson said.
