Paris Jackson has publicly denounced the new biographical film Michael, creating a rift with her brothers Prince and Bigi Jackson who supported the project.

The movie, which follows the life of their father Michael Jackson, became the first biographical film to reach $1 billion at the box office despite dividing the Jackson family.

Paris, 28, called the production a "botched production" and accused estate executors John Branca and John McClain of financial mismanagement, a lack of transparency, and wasting resources since her father died in 2009. She said it was "troubling" that the estate used its own funds to finance most if not all of the $150 million budget.

She claimed the movie was "dishonest" and a "fantasy", stating that she "moved on" after producers did not address her notes. Paris clarified "that I wasn't involved at all" and expressed a general dislike for biopics because "a lot of inaccuracy and there's a lot of full-blown lies" exist in Hollywood productions. She added that the film would "pander to a very specific section of my dad's fandom that still lives in a fantasy".

Lawyers for the estate told TMZ that the claims made by Paris were "without merit", accusing her of "playing media games by making headline-grabbing, yet false, accusations" and staging tabloid press photo ops. The estate's legal team stated that Paris and her lawyer ignored an invitation to meet, while singer Janet Jackson also distanced herself from the movie.

Biopic Dispute and Legal Battles

Bigi Jackson, previously known as Blanket, recently entered the legal conflict between his sister and the estate executors. Court documents filed by John Branca and John McClain revealed that a settlement deal had been spearheaded by lawyers for Bigi, who stated in emails that he spoke for all three siblings.

The executors stated that the deal crumbled just as it was about to close when legal representatives for Paris "inexplicably reversed their position entirely and reneged on the agreement that was acceptable to all other parties" to present demands "radically different from what the parties had seemingly agreed to just a week prior".

Bigi, 24, is the most reclusive of the three children. He was born via surrogate in 2002 with his biological mother remaining unnamed, and gained international attention when his father held him over a fourth-floor hotel balcony in Berlin. He began using the moniker Bigi in 2015.

Prince Jackson and Neverland Childhood

Prince Jackson, 29, served as a producer on Michael and actively supported the film by attending its premiere alongside Bigi. The eldest child of Michael Jackson and his wife Debbie Rowe, Prince grew up on the Neverland Ranch until his parents divorced in 1999, after which he was raised by his grandmother Katherine Jackson following his father's death. His godparents include Home Alone actor Macaulay Culkin and actress Elizabeth Taylor.

In May 2019, Prince graduated cum laude from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles with a bachelor's degree in business administration focused on entrepreneurship. He thanked his cousins TJ, Taryll, and Taj for pushing him to finish when he wanted to quit, stating at the time: "[They] kept pushing me to graduate and finish up my degree when I wanted to quit. Honestly I can't tell you if all of it was worth it yet but I am proud of my degree as I believe it is a testament to my dedication and discipline."

During his time in college, Prince co-founded the Heal Los Angeles Foundation in 2016 alongside John Muto. The charity aims to improve young lives by teaching life skills to help them pursue their dreams, and provided meal delivery services to struggling individuals during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

Prince announced his engagement last year to his girlfriend Molly Schirmang, whom he has dated since 2017. Speaking about his upbringing, Prince recalled: "Growing up at Neverland with my siblings and my father, for us, it was hanging out together as a family, but with the backdrop of elephants and giraffes walking in the background. We spent a lot of time playing board games together, reading books, watching movies. It truly was, and is, magical. It felt like your own personal Disneyland."

Paris Jackson Health and Music Career

Paris Jackson has also opened up about her severe mental health struggles while promoting her new music album. She revealed that she underwent electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) after receiving treatment across five different institutions and taking a "conveyor belt of medications".

Paris, 28, is the second child and only daughter of Michael and Debbie Rowe. Last week, Paris spoke about reconnecting with her mother later in life

Describing the electroconvulsive therapy, which sends electric currents through the brain to treat severe mental health conditions, Paris called the pain "the most sharp" she had experienced "inside of my head". She admitted to losing all recollection of friends who visited her following the procedure, and stopped the therapy after learning she would require ongoing treatments for life.

In a 2017 interview with Rolling Stone, Paris shared that her tattoos covered track marks from drug use and self-harm scars, revealing she had attempted suicide "multiple times". After attending a therapeutic school in Utah, she reflected: "I'm a completely different person. I was crazy. I was actually crazy. I was going through a lot of, like, teen angst. And I was also dealing with my depression and my anxiety without any help."

In January 2026, Paris celebrated six years of sobriety, writing on Instagram that "sobriety was the best decision i ever made." She also recently discussed reconnecting with her mother, Debbie Rowe, who received full custody of her following her 2000 divorce from Michael.

The making of the Michael biopic has torn the Jackson family apart, with the late singer's estate recently hitting back at Paris after she denounced the biopic. The singer's aunt Janet Jackson also distanced herself from the movie

Paris explained that she reconnected with Rowe around age 15 without expectations: "When I walk into something and I don't have expectations, it creates this really cool space for something organic to just blossom, yeah." While maintaining a positive relationship with her mother, Paris holds complicated memories of her late father, reportedly believing sexual assault allegations against him after bonding with families of alleged victims.
