Spanish actress Paula Echevarría has reappeared on social media five days after the death of her father, Luis Ángel Echevarría, saying she is still trying to put her heart back together.
Echevarría said goodbye to her father on July 30. She described him as the fundamental pillar of her life and said her heart was broken, that she would try to put it back together piece by piece, but that it would never be the same again.
She said she felt empty now that her father could no longer brighten her days. During her mourning she leaned on her mother, Elena Colodrón, standing together with her at the funeral home in Avilés, as well as on her daughter, Daniella.
A promise to her father
Echevarría also shared a farewell message for her father on social media, looking up at the sky as she wrote it. She said she would think of him every day of her life, that she would talk to him, and that she would ask him to hold her up.

Return to Instagram
Five days after saying goodbye to her father, and after finding some comfort in the arms of family and friends, the actress returned to her social media accounts. She used the temporary stories feature on her Instagram account to let her followers know she was still working to mend her heart.
Echevarría acknowledged that repairing her heart would be very difficult and that it would never beat the same way again, but said she was determined to keep going. She made a request of life itself, saying she asked life to let whatever remained broken in her find its own way to shine.
The actress said she has been receiving countless messages of support in recent days, with many people trying to hold her up, even anonymously and from a distance. She said she was grateful for the affection and for feeling supported, but admitted the pain has not gone away. She said it would take time, acceptance and many tears before the first smiles return, adding that she will never forget her father but will learn to live with his absence.
