Psychiatrist Amin Gandzhaliev Backs Brain Training Method

Psychiatrist Amin Gandzhaliev, chief physician at the Rehab Family clinic for mental health and addiction treatment, told Lenta.ru that cognitive training is the single true way to boost brain health. The addiction specialist explained that people can actively strengthen and prolong their brain function through targeted exercise.

Gandzhaliev explained that the human brain has a unique property known as neuroplasticity, which allows it to change through experience, learning, and training. Throughout a person's life, neurons constantly form new connections, reinforce existing pathways, and build more efficient neural networks.

How Cognitive Training Works

Cognitive training programs target memory, attention, reaction speed, and mental flexibility. These programs typically use an adaptive approach where tasks gradually grow harder, forcing the brain to leave its automatic routine.

Gandzhaliev said this gradual challenge activates new neural connections, speeds up information processing, and builds resistance to cognitive load. He added that maximum results occur when cognitive training is combined with physical activity, full sleep, intellectual load, and stress management.

In earlier reporting, neurologist Galina Chudinskaya outlined how dietary habits influence memory. She clarified that overall eating habits, rather than specific foods, have the strongest impact on worsening cognitive function and memory.
