The Pussycat Dolls kicked off their PCD Forever tour in Oslo on Thursday night, months after cancelling their entire North American run because of poor ticket sales. Nicole Scherzinger, 48, Kimberly Wyatt, 44, and Ashley Roberts, 44, took to the stage in embellished nude bodystockings paired with lace-up boots.
More than two decades after the group first disbanded, the trio looked barely changed as they performed a run of their hits. At one point Scherzinger showed off her flexibility with a standing side split while the group danced in sheer pink costumes, including matching sheer pink raincoats for one section of the show.
UK ticket prices slashed
The band has cut prices for its upcoming UK shows to as little as £37 a ticket. Ticketmaster is running a limited-time offer allowing fans to buy four tickets for £150, working out at £37.50 each.
The Ticketmaster listing reads: "Get the group together for the ultimate night out as The Pussycat Dolls bring the PCD Forever Tour to the stage. With our exclusive group ticket offer, you can experience the iconic hits, fierce choreography and signature PCD glamour live! Don't cha wish your group had tickets? Get four tickets for just £150, including fees, book now!"
The Daily Mail has contacted Pussycat Dolls representatives for comment.
UK and European tour dates
After finishing their European leg, the trio are due to begin the UK stretch of the tour at Birmingham's Utilita Arena on September 29, followed by Nottingham's Motorpoint Arena on September 30. Further dates follow in Leeds, Liverpool, Glasgow, Newcastle and Manchester through October, before the tour wraps at London's O2 on October 13.
Why the US tour was cancelled
The PCD Forever Tour had originally been due to start on June 5 in Palm Desert, California. The band was forced to scrap 33 planned dates across the United States and Canada after low sales left arenas 80 per cent empty. Organisers cut ticket prices to as little as $30 (£22), but still pulled the plug just a month before the first scheduled California show.
Kimberly Wyatt on a possible farewell tour
The ticket news came as Wyatt suggested this could be the group's last tour together. In an interview with the Daily Mail, she said: "I think going on stage knowing it could be your last is something really special because you don't miss any of those moments. I think we're all in that same headspace about this and we are able to kind of tackle it as grown women."
She continued: "It doesn't feel like it's so much about proving ourselves. It's really about just embracing the fact that we did something really awesome together and that nostalgia factor is still there. It's another opportunity to show up for each other and come together as the three and be really mindful of you just never know when your last performance might be."
Asked what it felt like to reunite with her former bandmates after so long, Wyatt said: "Wow. I mean, a lot of life has passed. Like it's just unbelievable to have lived so much life since. I've created a new life for myself with my husband and my three kids in Surrey to have a dance academy, doing radio and DJing. I've sort of lived this whole new life."
She added: "This tour is about being really open about who we are and who we've become after all of these years, but also just a real acceptance for giving us the space to rework what this means to us."
Controversy over excluded members
The reunion has been overshadowed by the absence of three of the group's founding members, Carmit Bachar, 52, Jessica Sutta, 44, and Melody Thornton, 41. Bachar and Sutta have both said they were blindsided by the reunion and were never asked to take part, with Sutta calling it a "cash grab."
Asked by a fan whether she planned to meet up with the rest of the Pussycat Dolls, Sutta replied: "No, I'm not. They have been planning it for a year and blatantly didn't ask Carmit and I. We are finding it all out the same time you are. I was not contacted regarding the group's decision to move forward, and I learned of these plans at the same time as the public."
