Queen Letizia of Spain has swapped her low-heeled pumps for high burgundy boots upon arriving in Rovaniemi, adapting her outfit for the Arctic cold after departing Helsinki on the final day of the Spanish royal family's state visit to Finland.
The monarch maintained the navy blue tailored ensemble by Finnish fashion house Andiata that she had premiered earlier in the day in Helsinki, but altered her footwear to tackle temperatures dropping to near 3 degrees in northern Lapland.
The outfit consists of a fitted navy blue four-button blazer and a flared midi skirt, both crafted from an Italian wool blend. The high burgundy boots disappear partially under the midi skirt while preserving the navy blue and wine-red color palette chosen by the Queen.
Footwear change in Lapland
Burgundy served as the central theme for Queen Letizia's accessories throughout the day. In addition to the boots, she carried a small garnet handbag to contrast with the navy blue suit, building on the burgundy coat she wore draped over her shoulders during a morning wreath-laying ceremony in Helsinki.

Before traveling north to Rovaniemi, known globally as the hometown of Santa Claus, the Spanish royals concluded their itinerary in the Finnish capital of Helsinki. The morning schedule included the floral offering alongside a visit to Finlandia Hall, a prominent concert and event venue in central Helsinki.
Queen Letizia was accompanied by her husband, King Felipe VI, on the official state visit. The Spanish royal couple regularly undertake international diplomatic trips to represent Spain and strengthen bilateral ties with European partner nations.

Nod to Finnish fashion and family heritage
The choice of Andiata represents a deliberate nod to the host nation. Founded in Helsinki in 1986 by designer Tarja Rantanen, the brand remains a prominent staple of Finnish fashion. Queen Letizia frequently wears designers from host countries during international state visits as a sign of diplomatic respect.
Adding a personal family connection to the outfit, the Queen pinned a bow-shaped brooch to the lapel of her blazer. The piece belongs to her mother-in-law, Queen Sofía, the former Queen of Spain. It marked the second consecutive time Letizia drew from Queen Sofía's personal jewelry collection during the trip, following the formal gala dinner held the previous evening.

The navy and burgundy ensemble is among several carefully selected outfits worn by the Queen during the trip to Finland. Earlier in the visit, she wore an all-pink combination featuring a Carolina Herrera coat and a Pedro del Hierro dress.
By adjusting her footwear from low-heeled pumps to warm boots without changing her core outfit, the Spanish monarch successfully adapted her Finnish debut for the freezing conditions in Lapland to conclude the state visit.
