Rita Ora set pulses racing in a strapless black bikini as she cosied up to her husband, Taika Waititi, during a sun-soaked yacht day in Ibiza on Monday.
The couple, who married in 2022, looked loved-up as they sunbathed together on the boat. Ora, 35, wore a tiny black two-piece with a strapless top and matching tie-side bottoms, adding a red bandana over her bobbed blonde hair and layering several gold necklaces.
The singer was spotted lighting a cigarette while lying next to her shirtless husband. Waititi, 50, wore black swimming shorts and shielded himself from the sun with a brown baseball cap and sunglasses. The pair arrived at the yacht with friends before cooling off with a swim in the ocean.
Rita Ora on her refugee childhood
The outing came soon after Ora said she is "proud of being an immigrant," reflecting on her path to becoming a successful artist after growing up as a refugee. She is currently working on her fourth album and recently reprised her role as the Queen of Hearts in "Descendants."
Despite now having an estimated net worth of £26 million, Ora's childhood looked very different. She was born in Pristina, Kosovo, and her family fled during the persecution of ethnic Albanians in the early 1990s. Her mother, Vera, was a doctor, and her father, Besnik, an economist. After arriving in the UK, the family learned English and started again, with Besnik running the Queen Arms Pub in Kilburn, London, and Vera retraining as a psychiatrist.
Asked by The Times whether she had ever felt uncomfortable about how immigration is discussed in the UK, Ora said: "All I know is I'm always grateful for the education I received and proud of being an immigrant."
She added: "I think a lot of immigrants have a special energy: maybe a touch of imposter syndrome that makes them ready to improve themselves. Even if they're not first generation, you look back at so many great artists, and there's an immigrant story in their family history." Kosovo is the second-youngest country in the world and the youngest in Europe, having declared independence from Serbia in February 2008.
A day on the water
Ora also showed off her figure in a sequin miniskirt and wore flip flops as she walked along the beach. She enjoyed a dip in the ocean, showed off her back tattoos in the bikini, and relaxed in the sea on a float before rinsing off the seawater as she climbed back onto the yacht.
New film role and wedding anniversary
Ora is also planning to return to the big screen in one of Waititi's films, saying she would love to appear in one of his movies. "Absolutely. I'm surprised it has taken this long!" she said. "It all has to be about the script, the story and it just has to make sense but that is one of our dreams."
The couple have been married for almost four years and will celebrate their anniversary in August. Describing their plans, Ora said: "We do things so last minute. We are both fire signs, he's a Leo and I'm a Sag, so we never plan anything." Ora and Waititi wed in a secret ceremony in August 2022, after she bucked tradition and proposed to him.
Preparing for menopause after freezing her eggs
The yacht day also came after Ora recently revealed how she is preparing her body for menopause, having frozen her eggs in her twenties. She said she had the time of her life in her twenties as her career soared, and was "enjoying every second." But when she turned 30 five years ago, she noticed major shifts in how she felt physically, prompting a complete overhaul of her fitness regime and a new mindset of treating her body "like I'm a kind of athlete."
She told Women's Health UK: "I don't want people to get confused with [my health journey] being about me being obsessed with my physical appearance, because I think sometimes that line gets very blurred. It's all to do with how I feel."
Alongside taking up weight training, Ora, who is stepmother to Waititi's daughters, has educated herself about menopause after watching her mother go through breast cancer treatment, which triggered menopause early. "I'm trying to get ahead of it and learn about it," she said, adding: "I learned a lot from Davina [McCall] while working with her on The Masked Singer."
Ora froze her eggs twice, once aged 24 and again aged 27. "[Back then] a doctor told me it was a really good time to preserve the best quality [eggs]," she said. "It was actually the best advice, because now I'm in my mid-thirties and I have a lot of friends really trying to figure it out. It will just be more of an expansion when the time comes. Davina is always like, 'Hurry up, you can do it!'"
