Ronnie Foden Seeks £50,000-a-Year Social Media Manager

Ronnie Foden, the seven-year-old son of Manchester City footballer Phil Foden, is looking to hire a brand and social media manager to handle commercial deals as his online popularity continues to grow.

The role offers a salary of around £50,000 a year for a successful applicant to negotiate brand partnerships following a surge of commercial interest in the child, who has accumulated nearly four million followers on Instagram.

Ronnie has already signed with management company Propel Talent Group and completed several brand partnerships. At the end of 2023, he partnered with clothing retailer Flannels, sharing photographs of himself modelling their clothes on his account, and has also worked with apparel brands Little Bird and The Couture Club.

The Instagram profile is managed by his father Phil, 26, and partner Rebecca Cooke. The Manchester City midfielder explained that his son's natural personality drove his rapid rise on social media.

"His personality has made him who he is. He just reminds me of myself when I was a kid and he's very funny," Phil said.

His parents created the social media account three years ago after Ronnie went viral during Manchester City's Champions League victory celebrations in Istanbul, Turkey. The child was filmed standing on his father's shoulders while singing Gala's hit song Freed from Desire alongside City team-mate Jack Grealish after the club defeated Inter Milan.

During the post-match celebrations, Ronnie ran onto the pitch to embrace his father before sharing a selfie with Norwegian striker Erling Haaland inside the team's dressing room.

Viral Fame and Online Growth

Recalling the public reaction to his son's appearance, Phil said: "I couldn't believe it. Every comment on my social media page was asking to see him."

"So I thought I'd give the fans what they wanted and create an account for him and it just blew up," he added.

Known for perfecting a cool, arm-crossed pose in his photos, Ronnie soon became the subject of a popular internet meme. Fans dubbed him "El Wey" or "The Dude", a nickname explicitly featured in the biography section of his Instagram page.

Family Profiles and Age Restrictions

Ronnie, who has a younger brother and sister, has expanded his presence across multiple digital platforms. His parents run a TikTok account for him that has gathered 750,000 followers, alongside a YouTube channel.

His parents have also created an Instagram account for his five-year-old sister True, which has reached 48,000 followers. Her profile features photographs of her posing in designer outfits and holding mini handbags from luxury brands including Hermes, Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Chanel.

The salary is around £50,000 and the successful applicant can expect to earn it negotiating brand deals as there has been a clamour to do business with Ronnie

Despite his growing commercial profile, Ronnie will not be able to manage his digital presence independently anytime soon. Under the UK's upcoming social media ban for children under the age of 16 set to take effect next spring, the youngster will have to wait nearly a decade before taking ownership of the account.
