Spanish singer Rosalía has stepped out in Mexico City wearing a newspaper print dress reminiscent of Carrie Bradshaw's iconic look from Sex and the City. The Catalan artist wore the sleeveless design while walking through the streets of Polanco before finishing the final dates of her LUX Tour concert series in the Mexican capital.

Rosalía, who also made a public appearance in Mexico City alongside model Loli Bahía, chose an accessible piece from Spanish fashion brand Desigual for her outing. The dress retails for 90 euros and features a round neckline and a flared skirt made from a lightweight fabric designed to fit and slim the figure.

Desigual originally launched the newspaper print garment in 2022. Since its release, the design has become a sought after piece for fans of Sex and the City while giving high visibility to a Spanish label on an international stage.

Rosalía Y2K styling and LUX Tour wardrobe

Rosalía styled the dress with black high heels and a large hair claw clip, updating the early 2000s aesthetic for a contemporary audience. The look confirms the return of Y2K fashion trends, particularly newspaper prints, for autumn 2026.

The appearance highlights the singer's ability to blend contrasting fashion references within her wardrobe. Throughout her LUX Tour, Rosalía has showcased diverse styles ranging from operatic outfits with classic ballet flats and tulle skirts to a pink corset that she recently premiered during her shows in Mexico City.

Her latest street style look brings back one of the most recognizable patterns of the 2000s era. By wearing the 90 euro dress in Mexico, she demonstrated how high fashion references can be translated into accessible everyday clothing.

The 90 euro design has served as a relic for television and fashion enthusiasts since its 2022 release. Its resurgence in Mexico City marks a key moment for the Spanish brand as international stars continue to champion its commercial collections.

History of the Carrie Bradshaw newspaper dress

The original newspaper print dress became a fashion landmark after Sarah Jessica Parker wore it as Carrie Bradshaw in the third season of Sex and the City more than 25 years ago. Designed by John Galliano for the French fashion house Dior, the dress featured graphics inspired by newspaper clippings and printed pages.

Galliano's creation achieved worldwide fame and inspired numerous fashion houses to reinterpret newspaper prints on international runways over the following decades. Sarah Jessica Parker established herself as one of the most influential style figures of the 2000s through her wardrobe on the show.

Nearly three decades after the garment first appeared on television, Rosalía's street style in Mexico City reflects how Carrie Bradshaw's wardrobe continues to influence modern fashion trends.
