Rozalén reveals she is expecting a baby boy at film premiere

Spanish singer Rozalén has revealed she is expecting a baby boy while attending a red-carpet film premiere on Madrid's Gran Vía.

The musical artist announced she is almost six months pregnant as she arrived at the Capitol Cinema for the screening of the comedy feature Arriba Tutto.

Rozalén said she was feeling very well and described performing while pregnant as a wild journey with two hearts beating together. She explained that she is trying to enjoy every second of the experience, though she chose not to reveal the name she and her partner have chosen for their son.

Rozalén, whose full name is María Rozalén, is one of the most acclaimed contemporary singer-songwriters in Spain. Born in Letur in the province of Albacete, she has earned widespread recognition across the Spanish-speaking world for her distinct style blending Spanish folk traditions with modern pop. A passionate advocate for accessibility and social causes, she regularly performs on stage with a sign language translator to ensure her music reaches deaf audiences. Her career achievements include national music honors, and she was recently named winner of the 2026 Don Quijote Award by the Mental Health Federation of Castilla-La Mancha.

The public event marked her first appearance since sharing news of her pregnancy online. Rozalén attended the screening to support the film's director, José Mota, who also comes from the Castilla-La Mancha region in central Spain.

The singer recorded the main theme song for Arriba Tutto, which marks the debut feature film for Mota as a director. Displaying her baby bump on the red carpet, she expressed pride in her contribution and thanked her fellow countryman for inviting her to work on what she called a beautiful movie.

Director José Mota, born in Montiel in Ciudad Real, is a household name in Spanish entertainment, renowned for his decades of television sketch shows, satirical comedy, and voice acting. His transition to directing feature films with Arriba Tutto brought fans and fellow artists to Madrid's Gran Vía. The screening venue, the Capitol Cinema inside the landmark Carrión Building, is one of the most famous art deco structures in Spain and has hosted major movie premieres since opening in the 1930s.

The singer had originally shared news of her pregnancy at the end of August by publishing a photograph alongside her partner displaying an ultrasound scan. In that post, she wrote that a new life had been beating strongly inside her for four months and added that a Basque-Manchego chick was on the way.

During the premiere, Rozalén ensured her personal news did not overshadow the launch of the film, answering questions briefly before focusing on the movie. She stated that everything regarding her health and pregnancy was going perfectly.

Rozalén confirmed that she plans to take a temporary break from her professional schedule in the coming months. She added that her pregnancy inspires and excites her enormously as she prepares for the birth of her son.
