Actress Saoirse Ronan has insisted that she and husband Jack Lowden have not discussed rumours that he is being cast as the next James Bond.
The Scottish actor, 36, has been hotly tipped to play 007, with producers said to be strongly considering him for the role. Speculation mounted after his Slow Horses co-star Sir Gary Oldman hinted that Lowden had already landed the part.
However, 32-year-old Ronan, who welcomed her first child with Lowden in September 2025, insisted that the couple have not spoken about the role inside their house.
Speaking to the Associated Press, Ronan brushed off the comments made by her husband's co-star. "I mean, well Gary Oldman thinks he's James Bond, which is its own thing," she said.
"I mean, we're kind of getting on with our life to be honest, we have plenty of other things to be dealing with, so yeah, it's not really a subject that's coming up in our house to be honest," Ronan added.
"The dog needs to be walked, the dinner needs to be made, we're more focused on that. Jack's on Slow Horses right now, and he's having a good time on that," she explained.
Ronan is an Irish-American actress who has received four Academy Award nominations. She gained prominence in Atonement before starring in critically acclaimed films such as Brooklyn, Lady Bird, and Little Women.

Gary Oldman claims on 007 casting
Rumours intensified after Sir Gary Oldman, 68, appeared on Canada's The Morning Show earlier this year and appeared to let slip that Lowden had been cast as the iconic spy.
"It's been rumored that he's on the shortlist. We're going to find out pretty soon, aren't we? Because they have picked him," Oldman told the host. "They have made their choice, but they have not announced it yet."
The Oscar-winner added that he has his fingers crossed for his co-star, claiming that the public will find out the official announcement soon.
Oldman won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role as Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour (2017). He plays Jackson Lamb, the head of Slough House, alongside Lowden in Slow Horses.
Podcast speculation and audition shortlist
Presenter Richard Osman also hinted that he had been told who is likely to replace Daniel Craig. Speaking to co-host Marina Hyde on their podcast The Rest Is Entertainment, Osman said someone had told him for definite that Lowden is the new Bond.
"Someone told me for definite who the new Bond is the other day, but I mean that's happened before. The name I've heard is Jack Lowden," Osman said on the show.
"It is definitely not a 'he's definitely got it' thing. He is definitely being strongly considered. I think he'd be amazing," Osman added, noting that Lowden has "real Daniel Craig energy" and "can be funny, can definitely do action."

Hyde agreed, pointing out that Lowden is "a good age" for the role. "You have to have the longevity. They've got to do at least two movies, and he's a good age for it," she said.
Osman is a television presenter and author of The Thursday Murder Club, while Hyde is a columnist for The Guardian. Their podcast is produced by Goalhanger Podcasts.
The search for the next James Bond
Five years on from Daniel Craig's final scenes as James Bond in the 2021 film No Time to Die, the role has yet to be officially cast. Speculation has heightened after Amazon MGM Studios announced that auditions were taking place.
Alongside Lowden, actors Callum Turner, Harris Dickinson, Jack Barton, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson are rumoured to be on the audition list.
Amazon MGM Studios released a statement earlier this year stating: "The search for the next James Bond is underway. While we don't plan to comment on specific details during the casting process, we're excited to share more news with 007 fans as soon as the time is right."
The search for the next Bond is being overseen by casting director Nina Gold alongside director Denis Villeneuve. Villeneuve is known for directing Dune, Dune: Part Two, and Blade Runner 2049, while Gold is a veteran casting director whose work includes Game of Thrones.
Jack Lowden career and upcoming roles
Lowden's acting career includes a role in Christopher Nolan's Second World War film Dunkirk. He is also set to star as Mr Darcy in Netflix's adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, scheduled for release later this year.
Lowden is currently filming Slow Horses, which Apple TV+ has renewed for an eighth season. However, the streaming service did not mention whether Lowden will reprise his role when making the announcement.
Lowden and Ronan married in Scotland in 2024 after meeting on the set of Mary Queen of Scots in 2018. They welcomed their first child in September 2025.
