Peruvian aristocrat Sassa de Osma has revealed her latest autumn 2026 footwear trend, sharing customizable mesh ballet flats from French brand Chatelles on Instagram.
The socialite displayed the shoes in a photograph posted to her Instagram Stories, showcasing a pair of sheer red dotted mesh flats featuring a strap across the instep and removable jewel brooches.

The customizable footwear has already sold out in all sizes on the Chatelles online store, with the brand establishing a waiting list for shoppers hoping to purchase a pair upon restocking.
De Osma, born Alessandra de Osma in Lima, Peru, is a fashion designer, former model, and entrepreneur who married Prince Christian of Hanover in 2017. Widely followed for her street style, she has established a reputation for spotlighting independent European footwear labels and setting seasonal wardrobe trends.
Customizable design and pricing
The featured footwear offers a contemporary update on classic ballet flats. Constructed from a delicate grid mesh fabric, the shoe leaves the entire foot visible, creating a romantic silhouette distinct from traditional leather slippers.
The design relies on a versatile customization system. Wearers can attach interchangeable decorative jewel brooches to transform the base design, allowing a single pair to adapt to different occasions from daytime outings to evening events.

The base mesh ballet flats carry a retail price of 155 euros, while the detachable jewel charms are sold separately at 45 euros each. Customers can purchase multiple charms to expand their styling options.
The lightweight mesh design operates as a versatile wardrobe staple during transitional weather. Fashion observers note that the shoes can be worn barefoot throughout the summer months or combined with socks as temperatures drop during winter.

This is not the first time de Osma has favored sheer flat shoes. She has previously expressed an affinity for mesh footwear in her outfits, often selecting handcrafted slippers from labels such as the Spanish brand Flabelus.
French brand Chatelles, established in Paris by designer François du Chastel, specializes in luxury flat footwear designed as comfortable alternatives to high heels. The label has built an international celebrity following, with notable figures including American actress Dakota Johnson and British author Pippa Middleton wearing its designs.
Styling mesh flats for late summer
In photographs shared from a recent holiday along the coast of Italy, de Osma demonstrated a formula for integrating the statement red shoes into a transitional late-summer outfit.

She paired the red dotted flats with a matching two-piece co-ord set in blue and white stripes from the Spanish fashion label eseOese. The coordinated ensemble comprised a round-neck blouse featuring a teardrop front slit alongside loose, wide-leg trousers.
To unify the look, de Osma selected red accessories that coordinated with the hue of her footwear. Her styling included a beaded waist belt and a red lobster-shaped hair clip designed by French accessory label Coucou Suzette.
