A Philadelphia couple, Dorothy and Sean Turner, cope with the death of their baby by caring for a hyperrealistic therapeutic doll they treat as their real child. When they hire a young nanny named Leanne Grayson to look after it, the fragile illusion begins to crack.
Sean knows the truth about the doll. His brother-in-law Julian is in on the secret too. But neither man understands who Leanne is or why she accepts the situation without question. When a real baby replaces the doll, the house becomes a trap.
Most of the story unfolds across a kitchen, a living room, a nursery, and a staircase that grows more claustrophobic with each episode. Grief, faith, and guilt warp the family while ordinary moments take on a sickening texture.
Servant was created by Tony Basgallop and produced by M. Night Shyamalan. The cast includes Lauren Ambrose, Toby Kebbell, Nell Tiger Free, and Rupert Grint. Episodes run around thirty minutes each. The show spans four seasons and forty episodes, telling one complete story that grows stranger with every visit. In Spain it is available on Apple TV.
