Shania Twain has teamed up with producer Zedd to reimagine her 1997 hit 'You're Still the One' as a new dance track, released as part of a collaboration with mobile game Candy Crush.
The new version keeps Twain's original vocal but adds an electronic production that pushes the country-pop song toward the dance floor. The track is also the centerpiece of an interactive experience set in a world called Candy Country.
A classic that keeps making history
'You're Still the One' originally appeared on Come On Over, the album Twain released in 1997. A year later it reached number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and spent 42 weeks on the chart, making it the highest-charting song of her career on that list.
The song also won two Grammy Awards for Twain, for best country song and best female country vocal performance.
Over the years, 'You're Still the One' has become closely associated with love stories, weddings and anniversaries. Now it has a new chapter.
Twain said the collaboration was a fantastic and exciting new platform for the song, calling it her classic and saying she felt flattered by it.
Zedd changes the sound, keeps the essence
The collaboration is part of Candy Crush's 2026 Musical Season. Zedd worked with Twain's original vocal recording to give the song a production more geared toward dancing.
Twain said she was very flexible about the creative process, telling Zedd to do his own thing because he was Zedd for a reason and she was excited to see what he would do with it.
The goal was for the song to sound different while still being recognizable from the first few seconds.

These include blue sugar stars and chances to win VIP trips to meet Twain or Zedd on tour, as well as clothing inspired by both artists' styles.
The project turns the video into more than just a piece of music, giving fans an experience to explore and discover.
A song that belongs to every generation
Twain said the new version shows how a song can take on different meanings depending on who is listening to it.
She said every generation of listeners hears the song for different reasons, and that she has watched it accompany young couples, married couples celebrating anniversaries, and families who found in it a connection across generations.
Twain said she finds it very entertaining to see what the song has become for so many other people, adding that this has given it much more depth as a songwriter.
She compared the process to what happened with 'I Will Always Love You,' written by Dolly Parton and later turned into a worldwide hit by Whitney Houston.
