Shanna Moakler has addressed a deleted social media comment about Kourtney Kardashian, telling the Daily Mail she will tell her story in an upcoming memoir.
Moakler wrote "Where are her children?" on a TikTok fan screenshot from the premiere of the new documentary Louder than Fear.
Travis Barker, the Blink-182 drummer who was married to Moakler from 2004 until 2008, attended the premiere with Kardashian, his wife. The couple were joined by Landon, 22, and Alabama, 20, Barker's two children with Moakler. Atiana De La Hoya, the 27-year-old daughter of Moakler and boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya who Barker helped raise, was also on the red carpet.
Kardashian and Barker's two-year-old son Rocky was absent, along with Mason, 16, Penelope, 14, and Reign, 11, the three underage children Kardashian shares with her former fiancé Scott Disick.
"Honestly, there's no major story here," Moakler told the Daily Mail. "I post and delete things on social media all the time, and there really isn't anything more I want to add to it. In due time, I'll be sharing my story in my own words through my book and I'm looking forward to that."
The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Barker and Kardashian for comment.
Memoir plans
Moakler, who recently launched a wellness brand called Hello Foxi, completed her memoir Queen Risen six months ago. She said her agency is shopping the book to publishing houses, but noted she was "absolutely open to self-publishing because I’m ready to tell my story in my own words."
She teased the book will cover her romance with Oscar De La Hoya, as well as "navigating a very public marriage and divorce with Travis."
Moakler said the project was "not about tearing anyone down" and was instead focused on "owning my story and hopefully showing other women that you can always rise again."
A former colleague of Moakler previously told the Daily Mail the author would "have fun taking some digs here and there" in the autobiography, adding that she "will talk her marriage to Travis and his moving on with Kourtney."
Kardashian family feud
Moakler plunged into an explosive feud with the Kardashian family during the early stages of Barker's romantic involvement with Kourtney in 2021.
She had previously alleged she and Barker broke up because he had an affair with Kourtney's sister Kim. Representatives for Kim have strenuously denied the claim.
When asked by TMZ in May 2021 if she had anything to tell Kourtney and Kim, Moakler replied, "Thanks for destroying my family, twice."
"My family's broken because of this family and now my kids and I are alienated from each other because of another sister in the family, so yay for me," Moakler added. "We just had dinner with our kids and all their friends three weeks ago. So, you know, this has all started since my ex started dating a certain person."
Moakler doubled down on her claim of an affair with Kim, saying she divorced for a reason and was confident in what those reasons were.
"People just don't divorce and, you know, break up their families for no reason at all," Moakler said.
Custody and parenting
At the time of the TMZ interview, Moakler was accompanied by her on-again boyfriend Matthew Rondeau, a model 18 years her junior. Alabama had recently denounced Moakler on social media, accusing her of being an absent mother and claiming to have "gone seven months without seeing my mom and her not calling me once."
Alabama also took blistering aim at Rondeau. "Matthew is nothing but awful to her. Not only that, but he cheats on her," Alabama claimed. "My mom has never completely been in my life. Can you guys stop painting her out to be an amazing mom?"
"Did your moms ask to see you on Mother's Day cause mine didn't?" the teenager continued. "I'm done keeping it a secret, reality shows."
Moakler responded in People, stating that "co-parenting is hard" but that she "will continue to prioritize my children's happiness and well-being."
The Hollywood Exes star pointed to a "vindictive parenting competition" and said the "claims of being absent from my children's lives are false and incredibly hurtful." Moakler added, "I know one day my children will see through the fame and money machine they have been thrust into and realize their mother loves and will always be there for them."
Rondeau insisted to Life & Style he had "never" been unfaithful. "She's an amazing mother, and I am with her because she loves and cares so much about her family. That's just one of the reasons why I love her so much," he said.
During an April 2021 Instagram Q&A, Moakler was asked why her children spent more time at Barker's home. She replied, "Because he lives behind two gates, has a mega mansion and is cooler than me. LOL, we have shared custody but our kids are older. We are very close."
Breakup and pregnancy
Moakler and Rondeau conducted a turbulent on-off relationship that briefly went up in flames in early 2022 after a dramatic altercation got him arrested on domestic battery charges. They were back together later that year and the charges were dismissed.
In January 2023, Moakler confirmed their final breakup, disclosing in response to a fan query that Rondeau was "single living his best life."
Kourtney Kardashian announced in June 2023 that she was pregnant at 44. She and Barker eventually named their baby Rocky Thirteen.
By July 2023, Moakler adopted a more diplomatic stance regarding the Kardashians. She told Page Six she had her own personal reasons for not liking the family, which she would not get into.
"But as long as he's happy [and] as long as they are good to my kids, that's all I care about," Moakler remarked.
