Sheridan Smith showed off a bold new red hairstyle as she reunited with her close friend Charley Webb on Sunday, months after the pair were reported to have fallen out.
The actress, 45, shared a video to Instagram in which she and former Emmerdale star Charley, 38, sang along to Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" in a car.
Sheridan's hair had been cut into a cropped style swept into a side-parting, and she ruffled the ends as she sang along to the track.
The pair looked in great spirits throughout, with Sheridan resting her head on Charley's shoulder to show off their close bond as they belted out the song.
Fans rushed to the comments to praise the actress's new look, while Charley wrote "Back to Life" alongside two penguin emojis.
Friendship strained by unfollowing months earlier
The reunion comes months after Sheridan and Charley were said to have unfollowed each other on Instagram amid what was described as an "intense" friendship.
Charley split from her husband and former co-star Matthew Wolfenden, 46, in 2023, ending 15 years together, including five years of marriage. Sheridan is understood to have been a pillar of strength for her friend in the aftermath, and the pair even spent Christmas 2024 together.
By September, however, their bond had reportedly cooled, with the two women unfollowing each other after moving out of a home they had shared.
'A very intense and fulfilling relationship'
A source told the Sun at the time: "Charley was living with Sheridan after her split from Matthew Wolfenden. It was no secret that they had a very intense and fulfilling relationship, but then Sheridan decided to move house and Charley wasn't really part of those plans."
"Charley grew really close to another actress - Wallis Day - at around the same time and they ended up drifting apart," the source added.
The source said it "came as a real shock to everyone because Sheridan and Charley were inseparable at one time, even calling each other 'bae'."
According to the Sun, the two women had been so close that Charley helped out while Sheridan was away working. They also shared a dog together and took a sun-soaked holiday in Greece.
Sheridan's move to Doncaster
After a brief period living together, Sheridan moved to Doncaster with her six-year-old son Billy, who she co-parents with her ex-fiance Jamie Horn.
The move followed time she spent filming her new true crime series, I Fought The Law, about a mother who appealed for her daughter's killer to be sentenced after he was acquitted twice due to mistrials. Sheridan said she "loved filming there so much" that she decided to move up north.
Sheridan first found fame in the sitcom Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps and later won acclaim playing the singer Cilla Black in the ITV drama Cilla. Charley Webb spent two decades playing Debbie Dingle in the long-running ITV soap Emmerdale.
Charley continues to split her time between acting work in London and Yorkshire, where she lives with her three children, Buster, 16, Bowie, 11, and Ace, seven. While in the capital, she has reportedly been spending time with Wallis Day, with the pair spotted together at private members' clubs.
