Journalist Silvia Intxaurrondo will return to host Spanish public broadcaster RTVE's morning news program La Hora de La 1 on Monday, August 10, putting an end to weeks of rumors regarding her future at the network.

The confirmation by RTVE settles speculation that had suggested a potential move to rival network La Séptima. Media executive José Miguel Contreras had previously dismissed the possibility of her joining La Séptima, but uncertainty persisted following reports claiming she had cleared out her dressing room and would not return until a dispute with the broadcaster was resolved.
Intxaurrondo addressed the rumors in mid-June, explaining that she was taking her scheduled summer vacation and intended to return for the new broadcast season. Her return will allow co-presenter Álex Barreiro to take a brief break, while Aida Bao temporarily takes over Javier Ruiz's role on current affairs show Mañaneros 360 until Jesús Cintora arrives on August 24.

Overhaul of morning television schedule
The presenter's return allows La Hora de La 1 to remain stable as RTVE prepares a broader restructuring of its morning news and current affairs lineup for the upcoming season.
The principal change in the schedule involves Javier Ruiz, who is leaving the broadcaster to serve as director and lead presenter for La Séptima on digital terrestrial television. His morning slot at RTVE will be filled by Jesús Cintora, who will combine the role with his continued hosting of Malas Lenguas Noche on Saturdays on channel La 2.
Gonzalo Miró will permanently take over the presenter role on Malas Lenguas following an August stint as co-substitute alongside Ane Ibarzabal. Miró will be joined by co-presenters Esther Palomera and Ana Hinestrosa across La 2 and main channel La 1.
In addition, Martín Barreiro will consolidate his position as co-presenter of Directo al grano alongside Marta Flich.
Ongoing legal dispute over salary
Alongside the schedule changes, Intxaurrondo continues to pursue a legal claim against RTVE concerning a 100,000 euro pay cut implemented after her employment contract was regularized as non-permanent staff.
The journalist maintains that the pay adjustment violated her acquired employment rights and is seeking the restoration of the financial terms established when she originally joined the public broadcaster.
