Ukrainian singer Oksana Voyazh revealed in an interview with Marichka Padalko why she disappeared from the stage after achieving fame in the 2000s. Voyazh said she suffered rapid weight loss and seizures while doctors struggled for a long time to diagnose her condition.
Voyazh described her illness as a phantom fight against an unknown force that caused heart attacks, tremors, and failing legs. She said her body stopped accepting food, water, and sleep, causing her weight to drop from a normal 55 kilograms to 45 or 46 kilograms, leaving her looking like a skeleton.
The singer recalled her first major attack occurring during a massage session, when she began losing consciousness and believed she was dying. Her husband rushed her to the hospital, but initial medical examinations failed to find a cause.
Medical Diagnosis and Spiritual Advice
Doctors diagnosed Voyazh after one month with a sympathoadrenal crisis, a condition involving a sharp adrenaline surge with symptoms similar to a severe panic attack. Medical professionals were unable to determine what caused the condition, leading one doctor to suggest she visit a psychic or attend church.
Voyazh attended special church services regularly for several months, where she encountered an unfamiliar woman she considered a witch. She said the woman recognized her, blamed her health problems on ill wishers, told her to stop spending money on doctors, and predicted she would recover after her 15th communion.

Voyazh said her condition began improving after the encounter, with attacks happening significantly less often. She also admitted hiding her illness from clients at her beauty salon by claiming her weight loss was due to therapeutic fasting.
