Six cages of whimpering beagle puppies were found in the locked boot of a car parked in the courtyard of the Meshchersky Les residential complex in Moscow, according to the Telegram channel Ostorozhno, Moskva.
Residents said the animals were breathing heavily and may have spent an entire night in the heat inside the closed vehicle. One of the puppies was reported to be in a serious condition.
After neighbours appealed to her, the car’s owner came downstairs. Residents told the channel that the woman’s family had previously been cruel to animals, and that her son walks the puppies in the courtyard and frequently beats them.
According to preliminary information, the woman has posted online listings advertising pet boarding and transport services. Residents said they plan to file a police report against her.
