Spider-Man: Un Nuevo Día Sets $168M US Box Office Record

Spider-Man: Un Nuevo Día collected $168 million on its opening day in the United States and Canada, breaking the record previously held by Avengers: Endgame.

The new Marvel production starring Tom Holland and Zendaya also generated approximately $72 million during its Thursday preview screenings. That total surpassed the $60 million recorded by Avengers: Endgame during its preview showings prior to its official release.

Despite losing its opening day title, Avengers: Endgame retains the record for the highest-grossing opening weekend in North American history. The 2019 superhero ensemble film earned $357 million across its first three days in domestic theatres, meaning the new Spider-Man milestone applies strictly to single-day opening revenue rather than the full weekend total.

North American box office records

Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker in the new release, continuing his role as the iconic web-slinging hero. English actor Holland and American co-star Zendaya have anchored the character's standalone films within the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Spider-Man: Homecoming, establishing the franchise as one of Hollywood's most lucrative theatrical properties.

North American box office tracking combines ticket receipts from cinema locations across the United States and Canada. Opening day figures provide industry analysts with an early indicator of theatrical demand, measuring both preview screenings and traditional Friday showtimes.

Record opening attendance in Peru

The film achieved similar commercial success in international markets, including Peru. Spider-Man: Un Nuevo Día drew approximately 365,000 spectators on its first day in Peruvian cinemas, making it the biggest opening day in the history of the Spider-Man franchise in the country.

That figure topped the previous Peruvian franchise mark set by Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021, which recorded 257,000 viewers on its opening day. Before the Latin American premiere on July 29, Holland and Zendaya sent a greeting to Peruvian fans expressing their excitement ahead of the theatrical release.

Latin America remains a crucial international market for superhero blockbusters. The regional rollout for Spider-Man: Un Nuevo Día began on July 29, launching multi-country theatrical runs that drove record audience turnout across South American cinema chains.
