Stacey Solomon has moved her family into a £2.5million country manor set in 30 acres of Essex countryside, leaving behind the £1.3million 'Pickle Cottage' that had been their home for years.
The 36-year-old television presenter and her husband Joe Swash, 44, have taken on the imposing Victorian property, which comes complete with stables, a coach house and its own lake. The red-brick mansion spans more than 8,000 sq ft and offers panoramic rural views, with high ceilings, large sash windows, a sweeping staircase and elegant fireplaces.
Solomon shared a photograph of herself, Swash and their blended family on the doorstep of the new house, captioning it: "Home is wherever I'm with you... Pickle Project, Here We Go."
A doer-upper with plenty of work ahead
Despite the price tag, the property is far from finished. Builders' vans have become a regular sight outside the house, which was previously owned by a newspaper journalist, and chicken coops have already started appearing in the grounds.
In a virtual tour shared with her Instagram followers, Solomon showed off a large bedroom with a sauna, a walk-in wardrobe and an en suite bathroom featuring a circular "Grecian" bathtub. Other parts of the house looked less polished, with her son Zachary joking that the cluttered upper floors resembled a "ghost house."
From giro payments to a £10million fortune
The move marks the latest milestone in Solomon's rise from single teenage motherhood to one of British television's most bankable stars. She finished third on The X Factor in 2009 before winning I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! the following year, establishing herself as a favourite with ITV.
Company filings show her fortune has now passed £10million. Her main company, Key Map Entertainments Limited, recorded net assets of more than £10.1million in accounts for the year to June 2025, up from around £7.3million the previous year. She held investments of £3.8million in 2024, adding a further £3.5million in 2025, alongside £1.6million in cash and £1.7million owed to her.
She has also moved into property, setting up Key Map Prop Limited in April, of which she is sole director, and owns a 25 per cent stake in Capello Limited, which trades as beauty brand Rehab and was valued at £3million in 2025.
Building a brand across TV and social media
Solomon has around six million followers on Instagram, making her a sought-after partner for brands. She has fronted womenswear and children's ranges for Primark, homeware collections for Asda, and social media deals with Jet2 and In The Style. She also launched a cosmetics range called Belle & Rose, named after her two daughters.
On television, she became a regular on ITV's Loose Women alongside her X Factor and I'm A Celebrity appearances, before landing her own primetime BBC series, Sort Your Life Out, in which she offered storage and decluttering advice. Further shows followed, including BBC's Craft Christmas and Channel 4's Renovation Rescue, along with spin-off books.
Her relationship with Swash, whom she met when she won I'm A Celebrity in 2010, has also been central to her public profile. Swash, who had won the show himself two years earlier, co-hosted its spin-off programme, and the couple's blended family regularly appears in their social media posts.
A difficult start in Dagenham
Solomon has spoken openly about growing up in Dagenham, east London, where she says she was told she was on a "road to failure" after becoming pregnant with her son Zachary at 17. Speaking to OK! in 2024, she described relying on benefits at the time.
She said she tried to hang on to her social life but couldn't, and realised she had to be meticulously organised just to get her milk vouchers. She said she had to collect her giro at a set time each week and get her baby to and from nursery on schedule, adding that if she hadn't got herself in gear, she wouldn't have passed her A-levels or kept her baby alive. She said the experience shocked her into action, and that whenever she slipped back from being organised, she felt unable to cope.
Leaving Pickle Cottage behind
Tudor-style Pickle Cottage, a 2.5-acre listed home in Essex, was where Solomon gave birth to daughters Rose, four, and Belle, three, and where she married Swash in 2022. The couple also share seven-year-old Rex. Solomon is additionally mother to 18-year-old Zachary and 14-year-old Leighton, while Swash has a 19-year-old son, Harry, from a previous relationship.
Explaining the move, Solomon said the family had long dreamed of more space for animals and growing their own produce. She said they saw the property and imagined a huge vegetable patch and land for animals in need, as well as bringing their horses and ponies with them, and that they fell in love with it on sight. She described it as a project, saying they were moving somewhere very different that needed a lot of love, and that she was excited to do it all again.
A warm welcome from new neighbours
Local residents have praised the couple since they moved in. One neighbour, a pensioner who has lived in the village for 50 years, told the Daily Mail that Solomon was very friendly and had introduced herself after moving in. The neighbour praised the area's fresh air and clear night skies, though noted opposition among locals to plans for hundreds of new homes nearby.
Another resident, Amy Frankland, 52, said word of the couple's arrival spread quickly around town but that they had been welcomed. She said she had seen Solomon out in her car and noted the heavy building work under way at the property, wishing the family luck.
The village is known for its rural charm, including clay-pigeon shooting, and has in recent years attracted other television stars and influencers, including cast members of The Only Way Is Essex.
