A new trend dubbed the "Double Bay Double-D" is sweeping Sydney's eastern suburbs, as socialites abandon subtle, natural-looking breast augmentations in favour of a fuller, more obvious look inspired by Pamela Anderson's Baywatch era.
The style is known in the industry as "high profile" placement and is marked by fuller volume, a rounded silhouette and prominent cleavage. Double Bay surgeon Dr Louis Wessels, who operates out of Transvaal Avenue clinic One Cosmetic, has become a popular choice for the procedure.
Dr Wessels is credited as the surgeon behind several high-profile socialites' augmented cleavages, including TikTok personality Elle Salagaras, Bachelor star Monique Morley and Love Island's Jessie Wynter.

In March, Salagaras revealed she had checked into East Sydney Private Hospital for her augmentation with Dr Wessels, after previously sharing a photo from her consultation holding a silicone implant with the caption "Nothing beats new boobs." The mother of three chose 350cc implants.
Morley, who has also undergone a rib contouring procedure in Bali, has said she spent $15,000 on her breast enlargement. She has praised Dr Wessels for his work, tagging his Instagram handle in bikini photos.
Jessie Wynter's corrective surgery
Wynter has publicly praised Dr Wessels since her procedure in January 2019. Posting to Instagram at the time, she explained that although she already had a larger bust, she opted for corrective surgery after experiencing a collapsed chest that caused her breasts to sit towards her underarms, leading to discomfort and a lack of confidence.
She praised Dr Wessels and the One Cosmetic team for their support throughout the process, saying they communicated extensively before and after the procedure and made sure she understood the expected outcome. Wynter also addressed the controversy around breast augmentation, calling it a personal decision and urging anyone considering surgery to research their options thoroughly and choose a qualified surgeon.

Instagram models Emily Webb, Melissa Stingley and a user known as "It's Hols" have also received Pamela Anderson-inspired breast enlargements from Dr Wessels.
Their willingness to publicly document the procedures reflects a broader shift in attitudes towards cosmetic surgery, with more women openly sharing consultations, recoveries and results rather than keeping enhancements private.
