PcComponentes has discounted the Thomson Q70 Series 55-inch 4K Smart TV to an all-time low price of 381 euros. The television carries a recommended retail price of 600 euros, marking a 36 percent price reduction on the online retail platform. Journalist Jesús Quesada reported that the discount makes the model one of the most compelling 55-inch smart options available for gaming and general use.
Quesada noted that he previously searched for a 43-inch 4K high refresh rate television for under 1,000 euros and identified Thomson as a key manufacturer. Thomson is historically a French brand, although other companies currently handle the manufacturing of its televisions. Quesada added that the exact 55-inch model, designated 55QG7C14, is difficult to locate at other retailers. AliExpress listed the same unit for 488 euros at the time of publication, which remains higher than the PcComponentes promotion even with potential coupon usage.
The Thomson Q70 Series television features a 55-inch QLED display panel delivering 4K resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels. It supports refresh rates up to 144 Hz, which Quesada highlighted as rare for its price segment. The display accommodates gaming on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and personal computers through integrated Variable Refresh Rate and Auto Low Latency Mode technologies.
Display quality and smart software features
While the television supports High Dynamic Range content, Quesada observed that the visual experience is limited by the absence of local dimming. Because the television relies on standard QLED technology rather than Mini-LED or OLED panels, high dynamic range performance functions as an extra feature rather than a primary strength. The advertised screen brightness reaches approximately 350 nits.
The television operates on the Google TV operating system, backed by search engine giant Google. Users can access thousands of applications through the Google Play Store, including streaming services such as Netflix, Prime Video, HBO Max, Movistar Plus+, and Filmin.
Audio capabilities and connectivity options
Audio is provided by built-in speakers delivering 20 W of total output power. The system incorporates Dolby Atmos and DTS surround sound technologies to enhance audio playback.
For internet connectivity, the television includes built-in Wi-Fi and an Ethernet LAN port. It also features Bluetooth for linking wireless headphones and other accessories or peripherals.
