The British period suspense miniseries Agatha Christie: Towards Zero is now available to stream on Movistar Plus. The show features a central murder mystery set in an English coastal villa.
The three-part television series is produced by the BBC and is based on the 1944 Agatha Christie novel Towards Zero. Screenwriter Rachel Bennette wrote the adaptation, and Sam Yates directed all three one-hour episodes.
The story takes place in England in 1936. British tennis star Nevile Strange and his ex-wife Audrey make the unexpected choice to spend a summer together at Gull's Point. Gull's Point is a coastal estate owned by Nevile's aunt, Lady Tressilian, and is the home where the acclaimed tennis player spent his childhood.
The former couple is not alone at the seaside villa. They are joined by Nevile's new wife, Kay Elliot, as well as the hostess, Lady Tressilian. The household also includes Lady Tressilian's long-suffering female companion, a mysterious valet, a resentful exiled cousin, a venerable family lawyer, a curious orphan, and a French con man.
Murder Investigation at Gull's Point
The initial quiet of Gull's Point shatters when a murder occurs on the property. The crime prompts the famous Inspector Leach to launch an investigation from scratch. He works to uncover the secret motives of the villa's residents and identify the killer before any more victims fall.
Anjelica Huston leads the cast as Lady Tressilian. Oliver Jackson-Cohen plays Nevile Strange, Ella Lily Hyland plays Audrey Strange, and Mimi Keene plays Kay Elliot. Clarke Peters portrays Mr. Treves, the family lawyer for Lady Tressilian, while Matthew Rhys stars as Inspector Leach.
Critical Ratings and Streaming Catalog
The miniseries holds moderately favorable scores across three of four major review aggregator websites. On Rotten Tomatoes, the show has received a 36 percent positive rating. On Metacritic, it holds an average score of 5.7 out of 10. The series has a 5.5 out of 10 score on FilmAffinity and a 6.3 out of 10 rating on IMDb.
