Ukraine's State Consumer Service is rolling out an updated veterinary passport for pets. The agency said the document meets current legal requirements and forms part of a new veterinary documentation system.

One of the key changes is the introduction of a single standard passport format, approved under new legislation.
What changes with the new document
Each new passport carries a unique identification number that includes Ukraine's country code (UA), along with a series and sequential number. The forms are printed only by printing companies that meet the State Consumer Service's requirements, which the agency said guarantees the documents' authenticity and protects against forgery.
Veterinary passports issued under the previous legislation remain valid, and pet owners do not need to replace them.
Where to get the new passport
For now, the new-format passports can only be issued by state veterinary medicine institutions authorized to provide such documents.
