Spanish television personality Vicky Martin Berrocal has presented the second season of her reality series Las Berrocal at the Vitoria-Gasteiz Television Festival in northern Spain.

The new episodes have premiered on Spanish subscription streaming service Movistar Plus. Martin Berrocal appeared at the annual festival, known as FesTVal, alongside her 79-year-old mother, her sister, and her daughter Alba to launch the docuseries.

Speaking to Spanish national newspaper LA RAZON, Martin Berrocal, who clarified that her first name is Vicky rather than Victoria, opened up about the emotional growth depicted in the new season.

Differences Between Seasons

The first season of the show focused on introducing the family members and establishing their backgrounds. Viewers learned about her mother's life story to gain a deeper understanding of Martin Berrocal's own history.

By contrast, the second season was filmed over six months and captures real-time family dynamics. The four women faced tough conversations, arguments, and disagreements as they navigated their relationships on camera.

Martin Berrocal explained that while they do not claim to be a perfect family, sitting down to address unresolved issues brought them closer together. She noted that while season one told their specific personal story, season two reflects experiences shared by millions of women.

She added that she feels braver today because of recent events in her life that she now copes with more effectively, discovering new facets of her personality throughout the recording process.

Hesitation and Career Priorities

Following the release of the first season, Martin Berrocal admitted she initially felt reluctant to film a second installment. Watching her own actions on television from her living room sofa made her uncomfortable with certain aspects of her behavior.

The family used those difficult moments to engage in deeper self-reflection during the second season. Martin Berrocal acknowledged that she has consistently prioritized her career and work throughout her life, which brought her immense happiness and professional success.

However, she admitted that her intense focus on work sometimes left her personal life less supported. Her daughter, Alba, has previously confronted her about putting her job ahead of family time.

Although she cannot undo past decisions, Martin Berrocal emphasized that those conversations with Alba helped shape the woman she is today. She added that her daughter also benefited from the opportunities created by her hard work.

Mental Health and Personal Support

The new season begins during a challenging period for her sister, following a period when the two had been estranged. Navigating that situation forced the family to examine why they react and manage emotional difficulties in specific ways.

Martin Berrocal expressed admiration for her mother, who managed life's hardships without professional psychological help. She noted that while people today are often conditioned to feel weaker, seeking therapy was once stigmatized.

Recounting her first visit to a psychologist in her twenties, Martin Berrocal recalled feeling embarrassed to tell anyone. In contrast, she praised modern society for openly encouraging and normalizing mental health support.

She recalled a key moment in therapy when her psychologist asked who takes care of her when she needs support. The question brought her to tears and remains deeply etched in her memory.

Martin Berrocal credited her mother, sister, and daughter with keeping her grounded and always listening when she needs help. She concluded by advising women to prioritize themselves, let go of fear, and focus on resolving genuine problems in life.
