Alba Díaz, daughter of Spanish fashion designer Vicky Martín Berrocal, has revealed she suffered a severe anxiety attack while on holiday in El Rocío, in Andalusia, southern Spain, with her family. The episode came just days after she returned from a trip to Medellín, Colombia.
Díaz, who was recently diagnosed with anxiety, shared the experience with her followers on social media. She said she wanted to speak openly about the condition to normalize it, and to explain that her family had been close by the moment she asked for help.

She wrote that she had a fairly strong anxiety attack at night, adding that she genuinely did not know the exact reason for it.
Days of heightened sensitivity
Díaz said the problem had built up over roughly five days, during which she had been feeling it quite a lot. She described herself as especially sensitive lately and said there were still some things she had not finished processing emotionally.
She said the attack caught her off guard partly because it struck at night, during what should have been a peaceful moment in El Rocío, a village in the Huelva province long associated with one of Spain's best known religious pilgrimages. Díaz said the place makes her so happy and lets her switch off so completely that she rarely stops to think there, and that the previous night the attack had simply happened.
Díaz is the daughter of Martín Berrocal, a well known Spanish fashion designer and stylist, and bullfighter Manuel Díaz, known professionally as El Cordobés. Alba Díaz has built her own public profile in recent years, sharing details of her personal life, including her health, with her social media following.
Managing the crisis with family
Díaz explained that when she feels an anxiety crisis coming on, she usually manages it alone or with the help of her dogs, but that this time she was unable to. She said she called for help and her family all came to be with her, and that after a while the attack passed.

Reflecting on the episode, Díaz said it was possible to be extremely happy, enjoying yourself surrounded by people you love and who love you, in your favorite place having a wonderful time, and still be carrying things inside that need a little attention. She said the body also reminds you when it is time to stop and listen to yourself, and that it is not enough to cover things up and try to forget them. She admitted that lately, that was exactly what she had been doing.
