Spraying a diluted vinegar solution onto a kitchen sink can effectively eliminate grease residue, water stains, soap scum, and foul odors, news website Cronista.com reported.
The natural cleaning technique relies on acetic acid, the mild organic acid found in household vinegar that helps dissolve light mineral deposits and restore shine to metal and ceramic surfaces. Users should first clear away any remaining food scraps before applying the mixture.
According to the publication, the solution is prepared by pouring vinegar into a spray bottle and mixing it with an equal amount of water. The mixture is especially effective at neutralizing unpleasant smells that build up around sink drains or inside the basin due to leftover food particles.
Once mixed, the solution should be sprayed across the sink surface and left to sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Homeowners can then scrub the sink using a sponge or cloth, rinse it with warm water, and wipe it dry with a clean towel to prevent water spots from forming.
