Ukrainian singer Volodymyr Dantes wears a Casio watch priced at 50 euros, equivalent to roughly 2,500 hryvnias, according to social media account cats_and_watches on Threads.
The entertainer, whose real name is Volodymyr Gudkov and who was recently involved in a road traffic accident, was identified wearing the Casio AQ-230A-1DMQ model. The author of the cats_and_watches account noted that while the timepiece appears simple, it offers extensive functionality for its price tag.
Dantes is a popular Ukrainian singer, television personality, and radio host, while Casio is a long-established Japanese electronics manufacturer renowned worldwide for its durable and accessible digital timepieces. Threads is Meta's text-based social networking platform.
The specific model worn by Dantes includes multiple time zone displays, a stopwatch, an alarm clock, and a calendar, as well as an hourly chime signal. The account highlighted that all these features are housed within a compact case measuring 38.8 mm by 29.8 mm and weighing only 47 grams.

However, the social media account pointed out one main limitation of the budget watch. The case is constructed from chrome-coated resin rather than stainless steel, meaning the metallic finish can wear off over time, though the author added that a user can easily purchase a brand new one for 50 euros.
The design of the Casio AQ-230A-1DMQ has a direct link to the historical Janus model released in 1982. In that year, Casio debuted its first watch to combine a classic analogue dial with a digital LCD display. The modern AQ-230A continues that concept more than 40 years later, preserving the distinctive combination of traditional watch hands and a small electronic screen.
