Fourth level of infected, Puffer was played by Adam Basil in the first season of The Last of Us
In the fifth episode of the first season, titled “Resist and Survive,” The Last of Us showed a fourth type of infected, the puffer fishwhich appears after about 20 years of fungal infection Cordyceps. Just like in the games, the creature’s look and size impressed. monster interpreter, Adam Basil revealed what the production did for this adaptation.
It is worth remembering how basil is a 1.93 m tall actor and stuntman. During an interview with expresshe commented on some interesting details of how he became the dreaded puffer fishresponsible for killing several humans in the chapter.

“I play the boss that we haven’t seen yet of all the creatures, he’s called puffer fish,” he stated in the conversation. “It’s a huge fantasy built by Barrie Gower. They spent around half a million pounds (approximately £1 million) on the suit, it takes about an hour to get in.”
It is worth remembering how the production team used two methods to bring Puffer to life. On set, Adam Basil used a very realistic (with practical effects) large suit/costume of the infected. However, the character was refined using computer graphics.
