Lymphatic drainage according to Mikulin: how to do vibration exercises to get rid of edema and cellulite pits

Lymphatic drainage microjumps are one of the big beauty trends. This exercise attracts with its simplicity and promises a quick effect in getting rid of excessive fluid stagnation. It is believed that with regular (and correct!) performance, such exercises help to lose weight and smooth out the manifestations of cellulite. There are several common methods of vibrational gymnastics. We are talking about the method developed by Alexander Mikulin.

Alexander Mikulin worked as a designer at the Moscow Aviation Plant. Frunze, was the “father” of the Il-2 aircraft engine. Heavy intellectual workloads and a difficult schedule undermined his health: Mikulin survived two heart attacks and was forced to give up his job at the design office. He decided to deal with the rehabilitation of the body on his own, using the resources of his engineering mind and his knowledge of the motor resources of engines. After all, the human body is also a kind of engine that requires good maintenance!

Do not take care! In our articles, we collect the latest scientific data and the opinions of authoritative health experts. But remember: only a doctor can diagnose and prescribe treatment.

The result of the former aircraft designer’s work on himself was the book “Active Longevity”, first published in 1977. In it, Mikulin set out all his opinions on a healthy lifestyle and suggested several ways to preserve youth. The most used technique is vibro-gymnastics, also called “lymphatic drainage according to Mikulin”. This is a set of relatively light exercises that have practically no contraindications and you can perform without prior preparation.

How to do lymphatic drainage according to Mikulin

It is best to perform the first vibration jumps immediately after waking up, after warming up a bit, then do up to five sets during the day. Here is the sequence of actions suggested by the author himself:

  • clench your jaws
  • Rise up on your toes until your heels are off the ground by about an inch, then drop back sharply, slamming your heels into the ground. The impact must be equivalent to that felt when walking.
  • Repeat the movement 30 times (with an amplitude of 1 beat per second)
  • Rest 10 seconds
  • Repeat the cycle

Make sure the blows do not respond with unpleasant sensations in the head – moderate the force of the blow if you feel pain or discomfort.

What effect does vibro-gymnastics give

According to Alexander Mikulin, healthy blood vessels and capillaries, as well as strong veins, ensure health and longevity.

Systematic gentle, but rhythmic “shakes” not only strengthen the blood transport system, but also prevent lymphostasis, stagnation of fluids in the tissues. Additionally, Mikulin Lymphatic Drainage is believed to help with mental fatigue and relieve leg stress during sedentary work.

If you decide to try to practice this method of healing, check with your doctor if he sees any contraindications. There are practically none, but it is better to be completely sure.
