Amazon-owned Wondery announced on Monday that it will release several series of its podcasts in Dolby Atmos, becoming the first podcast streaming service in the United States to deliver podcasts in an immersive sound format.
Atmos will be available for select podcasts starting today, from the Wondery+ subscription service to the Wondery app in 28 countries, including the US.
Titles now available in audio format include: Jacked: The Rise of the New Jack SoundA series about the clash of R&B and hip-hop in the late 1980s, directed by Taraji P. Hanson and featuring a Dolby Atmos mix by Oscar winner Chris Jenkins. Crazy Max: The Path of FuryMade in collaboration with Universal Music Group.
All three seasons of the scripted drama are also available on Atmos. blood bonds, with actors Gillian Jacobs and Christian Navarro; And the Gen-Z media family series Iowa Chapman and the Last Dog. Additional upcoming podcasts expected for Atmos treatments include weekly series after all.
