Previously in The Mandalorian
It has been over two years since the second season of The Mandalorian and season 3. But a number of things have happened in the meantime, with the series Bobba Fett’s book. Although this show is dedicated to the famous bounty hunter, Din the hero of The Mandalorian was there. If you haven’t seen these episodes, don’t panic. All you need to know is that Din was gone Luke Skywalker’s little Grogu to develop his powers. However, she wanted to give her a beskar chain mail. But Ahsokathe Jedi also in charge of the child, asked her not to come into contact with him.
Despite this, Grogu set out to find his adoptive father. And when Din came to Boba Fett’s aid on Tatooine, “Baby Yoda” joined the Mandalorian in explosive combat. After this adventure, Din and the child set off again. And this is where it begins The Mandalorian season 3.
Same recipe for season 3
The first episode of this new season opens with what could have been Din’s past. We see a teenager who looks like him accept his newly forged helmet in front of several dozen Mandalorians. But before he finishes swearing never to take off his helmet, the ceremony is interrupted by a huge creature (a kind of big alligator). An impressive fight whose outcome is decided by the arrival ofa Naboo ship where did Din and Grogu come from.

Despite this, the hero is immediately taught a lesson by the Gunsmith who knowshe took off his helmetand of his own free will. Din then presents a fragment that would come from Mandalore. He therefore proposes to go there and bring back the proof that he immersed in Living Watersunder the mines – only way to rehabilitate a Mandalorian.
A long journey begins for the two. And that starts on Nevarro, where Din reunites with Greef Karga. A place that has changed a lot and that amazes Grogu. Greef has also changed, now ongoing High Magistrate. The latter offers Din to settle down, but it is still not his intention. Before leaving, a band of pirates allows The Mandalorian to immerse us again a western feel. It’s deja vu, but still just as effective. And only used to lead a few minutes after a a fight in space.
Din crawls before going to Mandalore
Clear, ingredients for success The Mandalorian There are. Even if this first episode takes time minimal progress in history, the sequences, embellished by Grogu’s amusing interventions, are effectively connected to each other. However, it should be noted script mechanics still frustrating. We find ourselves with the hero going from place to place as if to fill the episode when he could go directly to his goal. The perfect example is the arrival of him in Kalevala to find Bo Katan in the last minutes.

The latter explains that she has lost everything without the darksaber. She no longer wishes to fight for Mandalore and she has no more hope. Din, she intends to go and leaves. So there is still a sense of a certain waste of time in all of this… If we are willing to accept this setting for the start of season 3 of The MandalorianHope that episode 2 will really get into the heat of the matter. See you March 8 on Disney+ to find out.
