HBO series and France
When it comes to series, the mere mention of the HBO channel is a guarantee of quality. Indeed, there are countless cult series he has created. We quote anyway The Sopranos, game of Thrones, Sex and the city, Six feet below or more recently Succession. Since 2008, HBO series have been broadcast in France via the OCS package through an exclusive contract. But at the end of 2022 this agreement expired and the catalog (apart from some novelties such as House of the Dragon) found himself ousted from French territory.

News that has not failed to worry the fans. This is particularly due to the arrival of Warner’s streaming platform, HBO Max, which is expected to launch soon on French territory. But in the meantime, what happens to the channel’s programs in France? Well, a deal has been reached between Warner Bros. Discovery and Prime Video. Check out the details below.
The Warner pass coming soon on Prime Video
On January 12, 2023, Prime Video and Warner announced two good news for fans of the series. In fact, the first was that of the series The Last of Us (HBO) would be available on Prime Video at no additional cost to all subscribers (with a first episode airing January 16, the day after it aired in the US). The second was that Prime Video would offer, through a “Warner pass”, the 12 channels of the group, thus recovering the HBO catalog.
In a press release, Prime Video announced that this pass would be available starting March 16th. It will cost €9.99 per month without obligation, exclusively on Prime Video channels, with a 30-day trial offer until April 3rd. It will therefore include, in addition to HBO, Warner TV channels, TCM Cinema, Adult Swim, Toonami, Cartoon Network as well as CNN, Discovery Channel and Eurosport. And the series House of the Dragon will be in the catalogue.
Our colleagues from Satellitefacts indicated that Warner’s future streaming platform (currently HBO Max) should be available in France in 2024. And that it will be available via CANAL+.
