Black Bear Pictures and New Regency created a new joint venture for nonfiction projects called Double Agent.
The company produces and finances documentary media content and is directed by Cinetic Alum Dana O’Keefe. During his time at Cinetic, O’Keefe controlled titles such as Summer of Soul, only free s amyAmong many other award-winning titles.
“We live in an era that can rightly be described as a documentary renaissance,” said O’Keefe.
“The Knife is an intern in the documentary space, with tremendous relationships, talent and a good understanding of content that can reach a global audience,” said Ted Schwartzman of Black Bear. “With our friends at New Regency, Black Bear is happy to support Double Agent and Dana with all our resources and couldn’t be more excited to dive into premium unwritten film and television first.”
