The nice surprise Dungeons & Dragons

When the movie Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Thieves was announced, there was reason to be a little skeptical. However, this free adaptation of the famous tabletop RPG it is a real success. An adventure comedy by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley (game night) with a cast as varied as it is involved.

We follow a group of adventurers who want to steal a magical object to face a terrible Red Wizard and recover the daughter of their “boss”, Edgin. If we briefly summarize the plot of the film here, it is because the interest lies elsewhere. in tone, humour, rhythm and generous action which make it extremely effective entertainment (see our review).

Hugh Grant impresses with his French

The Dungeons & Dragons team was in attendance on Wednesday, March 22 at the Grand Rex for a sneak peek. Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith and Sophia Lillis took the time to answer a few questions on stage. The opportunity also for Hugh Grant impress your audience and their colleagues by responding in perfect French. Just enough to leave Chris Pine and Michelle Rodriguez totally speechless. Proof with the video below:

The actor justified his command of the language by explaining that he now has a house in France, that he loves Paris and so on France is the only place where he is happy. But after this parenthesis, Hugh Grant also spoke about his role in Dungeons & Dragonssaying to himself happy to have played a villainbecause it looks more like him.

The bad guys are easier for me, because in the end it’s me. When I was the lead in rom-coms, that was a big lie. (…) But now that I’m old and ugly, it’s much easier.

A speech full of humor then by Hugh Grant, just in the image of Dungeons & Dragons. For anyone who hasn’t been to the Paris premiere, the film is waiting to be discovered in theaters April 12.
