Sitar: Directing and Writing. Those are my two favorites. my approach [in school] I was directing, but I took a lot of writing courses because I was happy to take on the creative side of it. TikTok gives you incredible access because I can play every role, whether I’m a cameraman, director, actor, or writer.
What did you know about Cannes or the festival before you arrived?
Echeagarai: Ever since I was a kid I always wanted to be in the acting industry, so I knew little about skin and that the different films premiere at the festival every night for a week and finally they vote. What’s your agenda here?
Echeagarai: Too tight. There are so many things to prepare for a festival that no one can see behind closed doors. It made this experience more real for me and I appreciate it even more.

Sitar: My goal each day is usually one to three videos. But since I came here alone, I was lucky I didn’t attract too much attention. So I’m four to six videos a day. I was able to sit down and relax this morning before lunch, and I was a little emotionally relieved of how excited and nervous I was to be here. It still feels surreal. I feel normal and TikTok came to me out of nowhere like so many creators. It’s crazy to think that I’m so happy to be able to sit here and meet you today.
Have you ever been to a film festival?
Echeagarai: No, this is my first and wonderful first film festival that I attended.
Sitar: Once upon a time, school was a lot of fun. It was a mission to go to a film festival, so I went to the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. I went to the movies with a group of friends and that was before I was actually on TikTok. It was a bit of an escape in one day.
What is your favorite movie?
Sitar: I am such a person. I love everything about love. It’s very unpleasant, but I love any good love story, especially touching movies like notebook OR light between the oceans. This is a beautiful story about love, longing and loss.
Echeagarai: I just can’t answer that. I have too much! My favorites consist of the Marvel franchise, of course. Star wars deductible and torment Potter Franchise. There are many more, but this one is the tallest.
When you travel, how often do you find TikTok followers? Favorite interaction?
Echeagarai: I’m actually very surprised when I travel internationally and people know me. I feel happy and warm to see that my content has reached a huge audience all over the world. In Las Vegas, where I lived, nothing could move my first relationship forward. I was wearing sweatpants, no baggy shirt and makeup, but the fact that this is the start of many relationships always puts a smile on my face.
Sitar: Yes. That always surprises me. I feel like a friend is hitting me when someone stops me. Even coming here while on vacation in Paris, I met two of my favorite girls. They also came to the film festival. They were students from Georgia and were delighted to experience the same as I did. We need to visit a little and talk about the school and its plans. I had many amazing experiences. I even met someone at dinner last night.
Which of all the movie stars in Cannes this year would you like to meet more?
Echeagarai: I heard that Juliana Moore is [here] And I’m not sure who else. I grew up listening to her and seeing her in person is an absolute dream.
Anna, if you could make your directing movie fantastic, who would you want to work with?
Sitar: Jennifer Anderson is fantastic. She is an icon and a classic. I’m a ’90s kid and there’s something about her style and energy that I love. I also always loved Zendaya. He’s so talented.
