Carmen: a sublime trailer for the film with Paul Mescal and Melissa Barrera

Carmen : Benjamin Millepied revisits the work of Georges Bizet

With the choreographer Benjamin Millepied he signs his first feature film Carmen. A modern reinterpretation of the work of Georges Bizet in which Melissa Barrera plays the role of the protagonist. After her mother’s murder, the young woman fled Mexico for the United States. After crossing the border, she meets two members of the American patrol. One of them, Aidan (Paul Mescal) kills his partner when he starts killing smugglers one after another.

wanted by the police, Carmen and Aiden hit the road together to Los Angeles to reach Masilda (Rossy De Palma), an old friend of the heroine’s mother. Their journey is marked by unexpected encounters, dance, love but also by death. The feature film reveals itself a little more through a sublime trailer. New images that promise a moving, poetic and violent journey.

Rounding out the film’s cast are Elsa Pataky and rapper The DOC. Nicholas Britell scores the soundtrack.
