Freaky Friday: the comedy of an entire generation
Released in December 2003 in France, the comedy Freaky Friday – In my mother’s skin it’s a remake of the movie A crazy, crazy, crazy Friday starring Jodie Foster released in 1976. Portrayed by the duo Lindsay Lohan / Jamie Lee Curtis, the film deals with a complicated relationship between a mother and her teenage daughter who have a hard time getting along. One evening, while having dinner in a Chinese restaurant, a mysterious spell it is thrown at them by the plant manager and the next morning they wake up in each other’s bodies.
The mother then becomes a high school student again and the teenager has to manage a busy adult life. All of this, of course, without arousing the suspicions of those around them, which creates incredible situations.
As well as Lolita despite me, Extravagant Friday is a cult comedy that marked an entire generation, with Lindsay Lohan at the height of her popularity.
Twenty years later, Anna and Tess Coleman are preparing to return to the screens once again.
Freaky Friday 2: it’s official!
Last October, Jamie Lee Curtis said he has ideas for a potential sequel and has been talking to Disney about them. It was born out of a true desire to get back into the skin of her character and find Lindsay Lohan.
Seven months later, this idea caught on and Fresh Friday 2 now it’s really under development! The information was confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter which also confirms that the two actresses will return in front of the camera.
Lindsay Lohan has already made it known that she is totally open to a sequel to the cult comedy. As of right now, we still don’t know any plot details, or even if this film is headed to theaters or on the Disney+ streaming platform.
