Harry Styles Partners With Everytown on Upcoming Gun Safety Tour to ‘Stop Gun Violence’

Harry Styles has joined the fight to end gun violence following two devastating mass shootings across the United States over the past two weeks, announcing on Instagram on Friday that his upcoming North American tour will partner with the nonprofit Everytown for Gun Safety.

“I am completely devastated by the recent mass shooting in the United States that ended at Robbie Elementary School in Walde, Texas,” Styles wrote in an Instagram post. “On our North American tour, we will partner with Everytown, which works to end gun violence, make donations to support their efforts and share proposed actions.”

According to a press release, Styles will transfer proceeds from the tour, according to Live Nation, to the $1 million Everytown for Gun Safety sponsorship fund.

He then shared statistics from Everytown, noting that firearms are the “leading cause of death among American children and teens”. The post also asked fans to text “ACT” 64433 to participate in the Everytown mission.

“Stop Gun Violence,” Styles wrote in the post.

On Tuesday, an 18-year-old gunman entered Robbie Elementary School in Walde, Texas, killing 19 students and two teachers. The harrowing massacre of innocent children came 10 days after a heavily armed 18-year-old white man opened fire and allegedly killed 10 people at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York, specifically targeting black shoppers and consumers. The Robb Elementary School attack came nearly 10 years after a 20-year-old gunman killed 20 children and 6 adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, Connecticut.

This incident marks the 27th school shooting in the country this year, where 212 mass shootings were also recorded in 145 days.
