Will Ozark have a season 5 or movie? Jason Bateman responds

Completed in the fourth season by Netflix, ozark started in 2017 and became one of the original productions with the best critical approval. Jason Batemanexecutive producer and protagonist Marty Byrdecommented on the possibility of the production having a continuation in a series or even a movie.

In an interview with Varietythe actor addressed the possibility of a sequel, and was quite open to the idea. Bateman, explains how the work environment was very “positive” and he loved the people he worked with. Furthermore, he stated how he would not hesitate to return to ozark.

“Any job or work environment that was positive, and where you loved the people you worked with and loved the product you created, you would love to come back,” said the actor. “It’s hard to keep something really pleasurable all the time. We had that with ozark. So I would do it again in a second, because what we had doesn’t happen often.”

the drama of Netflix follows the story of the money launderer Marty Byrde and his family, who are trying to free themselves from financial obligations to a dangerous Mexican drug cartel in ozarks. Although the series finale ended with the family Byrde essentially free of ties to the cartel navarrothere is certainly room for more stories to unfold.

Most of the main plotlines introduced in the show are resolved, but the jonah (Skylar Gaertner) in Mel Sattem (Adam Rothenberg) in the final moments of ozark creates potential problems for Byrde in the future. Should there be a chance for the main characters’ saga to continue, many of the show’s supporting characters are dead – and some new faces would need to be introduced.
