Jamie Foxx criticizes ‘so-called Christians’ for lack of legislative action after shooting

Jamie Foxx criticized lawmakers for a lack of legislative action following a shooting like the Walde, Texas, tragedy earlier this week.

In an emotional message posted to Instagram on Thursday, the Terrell, Texas-based actor expressed his condolences to the families of 19 students and two teachers who were shot and killed after a gunman entered Rob Elementary School on March 24.

But Foxx also spoke harshly to lawmakers and “so-called Christians” who he said had failed to change laws to stop a mass shooting like the one on Tuesday.

“Little angels, my heart goes out to your families,” he began. “I never thought I would live in a ‘Christian community’ where they let young children die indefinitely and still don’t change the laws.

The Oscar-winning singer continued the post’s caption, writing, “If the people in this country are leaders and so-called Christians, if they go to heaven, I will pass!!!!! “The devil is busy.”

Foxx’s message was accompanied by a collage of photos of 16 of the 19 children who died at school in the deadliest shooting since the 2012 Sandy Hook tragedy.

Foxx’s remarks were made earlier this week by actor and Texan Matthew McConaughey, who has no debt. In a statement posted to Instagram, the actor described the epidemic of mass shootings in the US as “an epidemic that we can control and no matter where we are, we all know we can do better”.

“Once again we have tragically shown that we are not responsible for the rights our freedoms give us,” he said. “What small sacrifices can we individually make today to keep a nation, state and neighborhood healthy and safe tomorrow?” “We cannot breathe again, find an excuse and accept this tragic reality as the status quo.”
