Musicians Machine Gun Kelly and Mod Sun recently collaborated nice duel which, surprisingly, is not a musical project at all. It’s a comedy about the stoners they co-wrote and co-directed, and in the classic high-octane way, the two believe their writing manifested a series of events. Don’t mock the idea yet, as one of the recurring parts of the film involves Mod’s character, Dylan, getting involved with Avril Lavigne, and the two later get engaged.
Notably, Mod Sun claims early in the film that Avril Lavigne wrote her 2002 hit “Sk8er Boi” about her, and she was in the script long before the two started dating. We recently chatted with the musician turned director, who told us this:
You know, he’s a little crazy. We like it, that’s all that emerged. I’m pretty sure we wrote Avril’s lines before we went out together.
While Mod Sun was lost under the weight of coincidences, his co-star and fellow writer / director Machine Gun Kelly made it clear, telling us the role was almost about a different musician:
Originally, for this joke alone, it was about Fergie. She said, “Fergie wrote the song ‘My Humps’ About Me.” And the line was like, she doesn’t know, this song came out in 2003, whatever it was. And then she was supposed to do a scene where she was in her bedroom and he said, “My bumps, my bumps, my bumps.” And then we said, I don’t think so. You should say, ‘S8er boi’ is talking about me. ‘ And that was before she dated Avril.
So, if they wrote Fergie’s line instead, would she and Mod Sun be currently engaged? What a ride, man. The duo went on to explain that Avril Lavigne was never asked to be her in the film, so that’s not how they met. Perhaps we will attribute it to coincidence. Or maybe, just maybe, she’s part of something bigger … like in the spirit realm. Wow!
It is not the only meta element of nice duel. As you can see in the trailer, It features a group of Machine Gun Kelly musicians and friends, such as Pete Davidson. Also in the cast is MGK’s girlfriend Megan Fox, but she doesn’t play her love interest. The two went to great lengths to promote the film in an engaging way Fox wears a sheer skirt Yes Kelly strips completely . He even claims the plot is inspired a real message he received from Megan Fox before they dated and her writing in the movie manifested the false draco anyone before it went viral on Instagram. If you want something to manifest in your life, ask Machine Gun Kelly to write about it.
