After months of great previews and trailers strange things 4 is officially out on Netflix, with volume 2 premiering on the Netflix program in July. With the fifth season confirmed as the ultimate run for Hawkins’ boys, it’s surprising that Netflix has yet to announce a spin-off for the popular series. That said, series creators Matt and Ross Duffer were recently asked if they had one in mind. It turns out they have an idea and Finn Wolfhard is obviously the only one so far who has figured it out.
The Duffer brothers revealed it Variety which foresee a spin-off after the conclusion of the Strange things, but they managed to keep their plans secret enough for the most part. Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike Wheeler in the sci-fi horror series, is the other person who found out what will happen:
We have a spin-off idea we’re really excited about … but we haven’t told anyone yet, let alone in writing. We think everyone, including Netflix, will be shocked to hear the concept because it’s so different. But somehow Finn Wolfhard, who is a smart and crazy guy, correctly guessed what it was going to be. But aside from Finn, no one else knows!
The story of Strange things it’s far from over and there are plenty of potential spin-off opportunities that could be seen in the series as it is. Regardless of how the series ends, there are sure to be even more stories that could stem from the main cast, premise, or lore. Unsurprisingly, someone in the cast has discovered the plans and someone is Finn Wolfhard. Apparently this also means that it could focus on something that has already been established, as it could be intuited.
This is not a’s first recent conversation Strange things divided. Earlier this year, Gaten Matarazzo, who plays Dustin, was open to the possibility of a spinoff of Dustin and Steve. The two characters quickly went from frenzied enemies to full-blown bromance, with some even claiming that Steve is like the mother of the group. While Matarazzo didn’t think a “full spin-off would be sustainable,” he said it could work as a YouTube web series or something similar.
Talks about the spin-off have been in the air since season 2. In 2017, Gossipify sat down with the Duffer brothers and talked about a potential spin-off focusing on Kali (the girl Eleven got mixed up with), with whom he brought her homicidal life). band of misfits). The episode “The Lost Sister” sounded like a backdoor pilot, but the brothers said it was just Eleven’s journey.
Strange things grew beyond Eleven and Upside Down, delving into other characters while keeping the focus on everything the kids deal with. While it’s sad to say goodbye to the series in the near future, knowing there’s a spin-off in the works makes it an easier pill to swallow. We hope to find out more soon, but hopefully a spin-off of one of Netflix’s best shows will be great no matter what.
The first seven episodes of the fourth season of Strange things are now streaming on Netflix. Episodes 8 and 9 will be released on July 1st.
