What is Anatomy of a Fall, Cannes 2023 Palme d’Or about?
Samuel is found dead in the snow at the foot of the isolated chalet where he lives with his wife Sandra, a German writer, and their blind 11-year-old son, Daniel. An investigation ends with a “suspicious death”: it is impossible to know if he committed suicide or if he was murdered. Sandra is indicted, and we will follow her trial, a true dissection of the couple. Daniel is torn: from the court to the house, doubt creeps between mother and son.
