The global festival of Disney + Day will return on Thursday 8 September 2022, on the occasion of D23 Expo: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event presented by Visa in Anaheim, California. To celebrate, the streaming platform will host special experiences for fans and subscribers; new content from its major brands, including the return of the beloved Disney classic in all-new live action Pinocchio, will debut on the streaming platform on Sept. 8, on the occasion of Disney + Day. The teaser trailer and main art of the film are now available, starring Tom Hanks, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, Cynthia Erivo, Joseph Gordon -Levitt, Keegan – Michael Key, Lorraine Bracco and Luke Evans. Lampas PinocchioDisney + will announce new Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and Star titles coming for Disney + Day in the coming months.

Directed by Academy Award® Winner Robert Zemeckis, Pinocchio revisits in a live action the beloved story of a wooden puppet who embarked on an exciting adventure to become a real child. Tom Hanks plays Geppetto, the wood carver who builds and cares for Pinocchio (Benjamin Evan Ainsworth) as if he were his own son. Joseph Gordon-Levitt was Jiminy Cricket, Pinocchio’s guide as well as his “conscience”; Academy Award® nominee Cynthia Erivo is the Blue Fairy; Keegan-Michael Key is the Fox; Academy Award® nominee Lorraine Bracco is Sofia the Seagull, a new character; and Luke Evans the Postillion. The cast also includes Kyanne Lamaya in the role of Fabiana (and her puppet Sabina), Giuseppe Battiston in Mangiafuoco and Lewin Lloyd in Candlewick.
The film was produced by Robert Zemeckis, Derek Hogue, Andrew Miano, Chris Weitz and Paul Weitz, while Jackie Levine, Jack Rapke, Alexandra Derbyshire and Jeremy Johns were executive producers.
