Jeff Gladney, defender for the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals, died in a car accident in Dallas on Monday. I was 25 years old.
Gladney’s death was confirmed by the Cardinals and their agent.
“We are devastated by the death of Jeff Gladney. “Our hearts go out to his family, friends and everyone who mourns this great loss,” the team said.
The accident occurred on the Woodall Rodgers Freeway service route in Dallas, reports KTVT-TV. Another person was also killed.
The Dallas County Sheriff’s Department said no one was available to speak about the Memorial Day accident.
Gladney played for the TCU until being selected for the 2020 First Round Draft by the Minnesota Vikings. She played in 16 games that year, but was fired until the 2021 season, when she was accused of assaulting a woman.
Gladney was found not guilty in March in Dallas County, Texas, and the Cardinals subsequently signed a corner game. He participated in team training last week.
“We ask for prayers for the family and privacy at this difficult time,” said Officer Brian Overstreet.
The NFL called Gladdin’s death a “tragic loss”.
