the official account of Star Wars on social media published a statement in defense of the actress Moses Ingraminterpreter of review in Obi-Wan Kenobi(2022), after she suffered racist attacks on the internet.
“We are proud to welcome Moses Igram in the family Star Wars and we are excited to tell the story of review If anyone intends to make her feel like she’s not welcome, the only thing we have to say is: we will resist,” the post began. “There are more than 20 million species with consciousness in the galaxy of Star Wars. Don’t choose to be a racist.”
On Instagram, ingram shared some of the racist comments he has received since the premiere of Obi-Wan Kenobi, last Friday, the 27th. “Long story, but there are hundreds of these,” he said referring to the messages. “I also see all those who stood up for me and that really means the world to me.”
The actress continued, “There is nothing anyone can do about it. There is nothing anyone can do to stop this hatred. So I question what my purpose is, myself standing here in front of you saying this is happening. I really do not know.”
“What bothers me is this feeling inside me, this feeling that I have to shut up and accept, I have to smile and bear it. And I wasn’t raised that way. So I wanted to come out and thank the people who show up for me in the comments and the places I’m not going to put myself. And to the rest of you, you are strangers.”
Among the comments that ingram received on social media were phrases that said that “their days were numbered,” as well as others that defined her role in Obi-Wan Kenobi as “a front hire.”
