Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling soon in France for the prequel to a cult saga

The saga Ocean’s continues

The saga Ocean’s has been a passion of Hollywood cinema since the 60s. Because yes, if many of us think that the saga was born in 2002 in front of Steven Soderbergh’s camera, there is however a Ocean’s Eleven original. Indeed, in 1961, Lewis Milestone staged The Las Vegas Strangerwith in particular Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin in the cast.

It was then necessary to wait until 2002 to see the saga return to center stage. Steven Soderbergh delivers a great remake of Lewis Milestone’s classic. George Clooney succeeds Frank Sinatra as Danny Ocean. Above all, Steven Soderbergh surrounds himself with a totally crazy cast with, in bulk, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Julia Roberts, Casey Affleck, Don Cheadle or Andy Garcia. Faced with the success of the film, more than 450 million dollars of box office receipts (for a budget of 85 million), Steven Soderbergh launches into the production of a trilogy. Ocean’s Twelve AND Ocean’s 13 they were released in 2004 and 2007, respectively.

It was therefore necessary to wait until 2018 for the direction of Gary Ross a 100% female suite, with Sandra Bullock as Danny Ocean’s sister. Unfortunately, Ocean’s 8 meets destructive press and viewer feedback. In short, the saga Ocean’s yielded approximately $1.5 billion in box office receipts.

A new episode with Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling

Currently, director Jay Roach (Dalton Trumbosaga Me and my stepfathersaga Austin Powers) deals with a prequel toOcean’s Eleven. The director will actually direct Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling in an unpublished story that will take place in Europe in the 60s. For the moment, we don’t know much about the film. According to Production List, the feature film produced by Warner Bros, which does not yet have an official title, filming will begin on June 30.. Much of the production will take place in France.

On Twitter, journalist Lindsey Bahr who interviewed director Jay Roch, shared the first plot elements of this new Ocean’s which will take place partly during the Monaco Grand Prix, on board a yacht owned by a wealthy entrepreneur:

I wanted to make an old-fashioned film. Margot introduced me to the script as a sort of old-school epic love story. It’s also a heist film, but it’s first and foremost a love story. We were both inspired by Hitchcock. I want it to be a great cinematic show. But we still don’t have the full scope of our budget to do this project.

Jay Roach continues his presentation with a reflection on his actors. In particular, he wondered if it wouldn’t be strange to see Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling together again afterward Barbiewhich is expected on July 19 in theaters:

Initially, we wondered if it wouldn’t be weird to have Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling back on screen after Barbie. But I think it’s a couple we want to see again. It’s such a powerful duo. In Ocean’s, they’ll have to trust each other enough to team up. It’s so romantic. This is one of the most romantic projects I will direct. The characters will not trust each other. They need to trust each other. This is the heart of what I want to do.

This new episode of the saga Ocean’s does not yet have a release date. But in the meantime, we meet on July 19 to find Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling enter Barbie.
